But What?s Actually Going On In Our Neighborhoods?
G. Benjamin Ranney and Mike Jerabek will discuss the principles of sustainable development and
share their thoughts on practical green building technologies for neighborhood-scale buildings.
They will also provide a detailed look into select features of their Fountain View development,
Lincoln Square?s first LEED-certified green building.

G. Benjamin Ranney
Principal, Terra Firma Co.
G. Benjamin Ranney is a principal of Terra Firma Co., a Chicago-
based real estate development firm dedicated to building
healthier communities through commercial and residential development.
Terra Firma recently broke ground on The Fountain
View, a new mixed-use, transit-oriented development designed
to take full advantage of its unique site overlooking Giddings
Plaza in Lincoln Square. The Fountain View is registered with
the United States Green Building Council and is expected to be
Chicago?s first LEED certified project of this type and scale. Prior
to forming the firm, Mr. Ranney held the position of Director of
Development for Prairie Holdings Corporation, developer of the
acclaimed Prairie Crossing conservation community in Grayslake,
Illinois.

Michael Jerabek, AIA
Principal, Worn Jerabek Architects P.C.
Mike Jerabek is a Principal of Worn Jerabek Architects, P.C., a
Chicago-based architectural firm that specializes in the integration
of sustainable techniques into the design of market-rate and
affordable multi-family housing, senior housing and commercial
projects. Mr. Jerabek has served as the project architect for several
sustainable developments, including the Opera Lofts and Fountain
View. Recent and current projects include Station Square at
Prairie Crossing, Park Boulevard and Bucktown Commons. Prior
to forming the firm, Mr. Jerabek was a project architect with Pappageorge
Haymes Ltd.

    Can anyone please send me notes/presentation from the meeting? Am currently working on a large mixed use development, would like your views on this, and to contribute lessons learnt to the group.
