I am interested in alternative energy sources, and teamwork. AND NOW WATER POLLUTION>
In the past I have been involved with greening Chattanooga, and was involved in the passage of the first ant-ambient air quality act. My group "The Neighborhood" collected over 3,000 signatures on a petition to help pass the air quality act, which of course led to the beginning of the dynamic pollution control board here in Chattanooga.
"The first meet up was great, it brought back memories from long ago. With the help of Hal Swartz, Harry McKelvin and Roy Noel which helped raise the funds to buy 14 green bushes, my group " The Neighborhood" planted the very first green plant in the downtown Chattanooga area on Broad st. by the old train station. --- I can recall after a few weeks the bushes were wilting a bit and we were worried, then one morning we noticed the word had come down from somewhere- and the fire department was out watering the bushes, it gave us kids a thrill, that we actually were in some ways important enough to be noticed by the higher ups...."
The Big thing, is --- We can do great things! ~~~~ by ourselves, and with the help of all the people I met tonight, we ought to be able to do many, many great things. Sometimes you have to fight the established ideas, but in this group the establishment is with us. What more can be said.
